Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam

In front of you stands the majestic building of the Supreme People’s Court. The court actually has two buildings, and you are now facing the newer one, opened in 2020. Designed by a German-Vietnamese team, Inros Lackner Vietnam and Coninco, it was completed in just over a year, from September 2019 to October 2020. The building reflects a contemporary take on neoclassicism, with clean lines, strict symmetry, and balanced proportions, meant to appear harmonious with the historic architecture nearby. It connects to the old Palace of Justice through a central axis and a landscaped courtyard, sometimes called the “Garden of Justice,” where a stone sculpture of the Vietnamese character Tâm stands, symbolizing both heart and mind. The new building houses the court’s main offices and conference rooms, including a large courtroom beneath a dome that fills the space with natural light. Next, we’ll move on to the other building in the complex: the colonial-era Palace of Justice.
