What better name than the term phoenix, for rising from its ashes ? From its beginnings, the stage hosted the greatest operas in Europe, those of Bellini, Rossini and of course Verdi. But the building was repeatedly a victim of the flames, and each time rebuilt, true to its name.

After the serious fire of 1996, the theatre was restored identically and reopened in 2003. Its sumptuous interior, all red and gold, makes it one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. A visit or an evening at La Fenice is an unforgettable moment in the heart of Venice.
