Diego Rivera Mural Museum

This museum is dedicated to Mexico’s most iconic painter. Yes, we’re talking about Diego Rivera! It was built in 1986 to house one of his most famous artworks called “Sueño de una Tarde Dominical en la Alameda Central”, meaning “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central”. This fresco, over 15 meters long, features more than 150 historical figures strolling through Alameda Central Park, including Hernán Cortés, Benito Juárez, Porfirio Díaz, and Frida Kahlo—offering a true immersion into Mexican history through a single painting. Next to this mural, you’ll also find contemporary paintings, photographs, and sculptures. A must-see for anyone wanting to see one of Diego Rivera’s artworks up close!
