Père Lachaise : The Cemetery of the EastLet yourself drift into a maze of silence and stone, where the noise of the city fades beneath the quiet dignity of century-old trees. Père Lachaise Cemetery is far more than a place of remembrance—it’s a romantic garden where every cobbled path seems to murmur the stories of those who left their mark on history, the arts, and literature. Between the melancholy elegance of its mausoleums and the untamed poetry of nature slowly reclaiming the space, this walk becomes an intimate encounter with the illustrious figures who rest within this timeless setting. It’s an invitation to slow down and wander thoughtfully, where the memory of great names unfolds like a journey through time, far removed from the rush of the outside world.

The climate is generally temperate, with winters that are often cool to cold, when temperatures typically range between 0 and 8°C, and moderate summers around 20 to 26°C, with occasional heatwaves that are possible but rarely prolonged; spring and early autumn are the most pleasant periods for travel, particularly from May to June and from September to early October, when temperatures are mild, visitor numbers are more reasonable, and landscapes are especially lush, while summer remains a good option for enjoying a lively atmosphere despite a higher risk of rainfall.
No need to worry about where to begin! Our tours are designed as a loop, so you can jump in wherever you are. The navigation system and audio-guide will automatically adjust to your location. However, if you happen to be nearby, we do have a preferred starting point: Rue des Rondeaux
Rue des Rondeaux Parking Paris, like all major cities, is not car-friendly. We recommend leaving your car either at your accommodation or outside the city center and take public transport. You can easily get the bus or the metro to the cemetery.
The Père-Lachaise cemetery is open everyday until 17:30. But visitors are asked to leave 15 minutes before it closes, so keep this in mind when organising your trip. Entry is free, you don't need to buy any tickets.
