Lyon has a semi-continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are generally warm and can sometimes be very hot, with temperatures regularly exceeding 30°C during heatwaves. Winters are cooler, with periods of cold weather, fog and occasional snowfall. Spring and early autumn generally offer the most pleasant conditions for visiting the city, with mild temperatures, bright days and fewer visitors.

Paid parking at the Cité Internationale, Quai Charles de Gaulle.
If you prefer not to use a paid underground car park, you can also use a park-and-ride facility a little farther from the city centre, such as the one in Vaise, where you can park for free and reach the city centre by public transport. You will need a valid public transport ticket to benefit from free parking. Alternatively, if you prefer street parking, you will also need to head farther away from the centre to find free spaces.
